Enemas : this involves a solution being inserted into the back passage and lower intestine in order to remove faecal matter when one has found that they are constipated. It can also be administered in preparation when going for an operation or routine examination. The solution usually used for an enema is tap water. How it works is the body absorbs the water which in turn stimulates bowel movements.
Lactulos : is a sweet sugary substance which is broken down in the large intestine drawing water into the colon which in turn helps to soften hard stool. Lactulose is one of the most effective methods to treat severe constipation. It takes roughly 48 hrs to take effect but does work. You should be aware that owing to the high sugar content one should consult their Doctor to be advised if this method is suitable especially if you are diabetic or on a special diet requiring your intake on sugar is closely monitored.
Colonic Irrigation : known as colonic hydrotherapy is used for removing waste from the body. The procedure involves having warm water passed into your bowel through a tube which in turn encourages the body to release the waste. This waste in turn is passed through the tube that had been inserted. The image is really unpleasant but is effective. At the end of the procedure you will be given probiotics containing good bacteria to keep your digestive system healthy. Taking laxatives and drinking milk of magnesia is just as effective as well.
