Tips That You Should Follow to Detox Your Body

Eat. This may seem odd since much weight loss propaganda says that starvation and fasting equates detoxing. Not true. In fact, if you starve yourself, your body may start to eat its own muscle mass. Eat fresh, natural foods during a detox. Raw is best.

Get your body moving. Exercise (and sweating) helps the body rid itself of toxins in healthy quantities. You may want to opt to skip the antiperspirant and go for the deodorant. Studies are still being done that point of a conflicting, yet disturbing finger at the way antiperspirants work against your body’s natural detox process.

Drink plenty of water. Try to avoid other beverages (aside from juice) while you are trying to detox. Stick with water and all-natural beverages. Water is a big part of any detox program. If you want to sweeten your water, squeeze an orange into bottled water. That way, you get some of the flavor of orange juice, but it’s mild, more palatable and less calories and sugar.

Avoid all processed foods when you are trying to detox. Soda and snacks with high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners can wreak havoc on your body.

Stay away from diet drinks. While you may think they’ll help you lose weight and detox, they actually contain chemicals that can harm your body, even some that stay in your system for a long time after consumption.

When it comes to detoxing, the key thing to remember is that you are removing harmful substances from your body. As such, you need to be as kind as possible to yourself during this time. Exceed the needs of your body so that you can properly rid the body of toxins by feeling as little discomfort as possible.
