
The Master Cleanse is a popular detoxification diet that has been around for over 50 years. Originally developed by Stanley Burroughs, it has stood the test of time as one of the best ways to remove toxins from your body and shed weight quickly. Additionally, it is also supposed to help decrease cravings for alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine and junk food.
The Master Cleanse is a liquid cleanse that involves drinking only a lemon juice based beverage along with a sea salt flush and if desired, different herbal teas. To obtain the full effect of the Cleanse, a person needs to stay on it for at least 10 days, but it is not recommend for extended periods of time due to that lack of nutrients.
The Master Cleanse Gallon Recipe
It is very simple to make the Master Cleanse gallon recipe. The most important aspect of the success of the Cleanse is to purchase the following ingredients exactly as described. Do not make any substitutions or it may decrease the benefits.
Start with one gallon of pure filtered water. The water absolutely needs to be filtered to ensure maximum detoxification. Pour one half of the water into a container larger than 1 gallon.
Next, squeeze enough fresh organic lemons to make 2 quarts of juice. In general you will need about 30 lemons. To get the maximum amount of juice from each lemon roll it around and soften if up a little bit before squeezing. Add the lemon juice to the water in the container.
Now slowly stir in 2 quarts organic grade B maple syrup. It is darker syrup with a strong maple flavor that is primarily used for baking, cooking or flavoring in certain foods. Do not use imitation maple flavor syrup, it is not the same thing.
After the maple syrup is completely dissolved, add 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper is extremely important because it increases blood flow and helps to break up mucus. In addition, it is a source of B and C vitamins which are extremely beneficial to your body during the Cleanse.
Once the cayenne pepper is stirred in, pour in the rest of the pure filtered water in your container. Continue stirring until all the ingredients in the lemonade are evenly distributed and be sure to keep it refrigerated.
The standard serving size is 10 oz. and it is recommended to drink a minimum of 60 oz. to a maximum of 120 oz. per day. The Master Cleanse gallon recipe makes 128 oz., so ideally you would make a fresh gallon every day and drink as much as possible. To support daily elimination, supplement with a daily flush of 25 oz. of water combined with 1 teaspoon unrefined non-iodized sea salt. In addition, you may add a natural laxative tea and/or your choice of non-caffeinated herbal teas.
